Last weekend, the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra hosted their annual gala. The theme of the year was that age of decadent boozing known as the roaring twenties. It was pleasant as usual, the music upbeat and positive, taking you to a time when getting a drink meant excitement with a lick of danger, all while your stocks were on the rise.

All that got me thinking (music sometimes does that), we all have a pretty good idea of what was going on in the cities during the twenties, but what about the farms and farmers? It is my honor to present a new series for your consideration: Plowing through history. A series that answers the question that keep you up at night, “What were farmers doing all those years?”
